Hike to the falls.

What a great day we have had. Breakfast in our room and then we drove to Bow Falls, which were great. Then we saw a raft trip that was about to leave for a one hour river trip on calm water so we would not get wet. There were only two others taking the trip and they waited for us to get organized. It was beautiful the calm ride and the scenery.
After that we drove the back road to Johnstons Canyon. Ate lunch there and then started the hike to the lower falls, they were beautiful and we decided that we could do the upper falls too. Bravery was needed a few times along the walkways but we made it to the top. Then the snow came down it was perfect, it made it a real adventure for us. Now we are in Deer Lodge at Lake Louise. The hike was about 4 miles I think, so we are tired but happy that my knee held up. I just had a $4 cup of tea in the lounge. Early dinner and bed tonight I think.
The mountain photo was from the raft..

  1. Thanks for the great day, Mom! I am lucky to have a mother who flies by the seats of her pants and changes the plans for the day just because there is a raft near, and the sign say's, "hoodoos". This lodge is lovely - maybe we'll spend tomorrow in the roof-top hot tub and enjoy the view.
