We had a good breakfast and the day started with a little gentle snow falling down on us. First we drove to the Banff Hotel. It is massive and the gondolas to the mountain top go very high, they disappeared into the clouds today, watching them was enough for us. It stopped snowing and we went to the Cascade Gardens for a walk around, interesting buildings but too early for the flowers and water displays, there may still be frosts to freeze the pipes. After that we went to Cave and Basin Park, the first Canadian NP. We did a good hike around a lake and along the river and hot springs. Weather was good, a jacket on and off day. There were many people riding horses and we saw an Elk across the river. Looking around the shops was next before we chose to have Italian food for dinner. Rachel is soaking in the tub now. Lake Louise is next on the list.
